Creating inclusive, equality-driven cultures in the workplace has become one of the great goals of progressive organizations. We’ve come a long way in this regard too, but events like International Women’s Day remind us annually of the need to keep working toward this objective. In connection with International Women’s Day 2020, our friends and partners at Corsearch have posted a new article featuring interviews with three inspiring female members of the wider Corsearch family.
Of course, we’re extremely proud of all the team members who work at Pointer Brand Protection, but we also hope that this spotlight on the important roles played by women in brand protection may act as a signpost for others looking to join the field. It’s not just brand protection either because the article features insights from team members in Operations, Intelligence, and the Product division.
In a discussion of the world of international Operations, Yellow Brand Protection’s Global Head of Operations, Linda Silberg, gives the lowdown on how she ended up with a career helping to run the Sweden-based company. Linda suggests that her career grew from her wanting to combine her experience with a desire for personal growth. “After 20 years in the travel industry I wanted to try another line of business,” she days. “I saw Online Brand Protection as a way of continuing to work closely with people but also to do something new and challenging. I was lucky enough to be headhunted for an Operations Manager role at Yellow BP in 2013 and seven years later I’m very happy that I joined. It has been fantastic to participate in the magnificent growth and success we have had so far.”
This focus on growth is also spoken about by Corsearch’s Chief Product Officer, Malia Ladd, whose role is, she says, “to establish the product vision and direction for the company.” For a business like Corsearch, whose offering of products and services has diversified and grown recently, this is an incredibly important job. Malia continues, “From a product perspective it’s been an exciting couple of years at Corsearch because we’ve gone from having a 100% focus on trademark clearance, screening, and watching tools to expanding our vision to include online brand protection. This means we’re now able to support our customers across the whole brand lifecycle, from establishment to enforcement.”
In fact, one of the areas of Corsearch’s expansion has come through their acquisitions of Yellow Brand Protection and now Pointer. One of the unique services that Pointer will now provide for Corsearch customers is highlighted by Head of Intelligence, Hue Anh Ta, who suggests that the investigations solutions work best when people collaborate. “No one can do this job alone, we need actionable partnerships which exploit the available data, technologies, and resources; that’s the only way to keep up with the new digital age. Sometimes these partnerships will be between different departments of a business, and/or between the public and private sectors. Working in this way allows you to create the biggest and most insightful networks.”
